Mock Trial
As part of the Values section of the Venture Scout Award scheme, our Unit has decided to organise and undertake a mock trial. Unit members have been assigned the various duties normally undertaken within a Court. These range from Judge, Prosecution, Defence Council, Witnesses etc. In order to make this activity as real as possible, the Unit is hoping to construct various news articles which will be published on this site. |
After some descussion, the following court case was decided. A dead body has been found which was later identified as a Mr Dumpty. During the investigation that followed a Mr Tim Sheldia has been accused of committing the murder. The trial of Mr Sheldia was held on the 14th February 1999 at Peel Court House. To find out what happened at the trial, follow the links below |
The following pages are designed to give a feel to how the trial progressed and the type of evidence presented by the Prosecution in an attempt to prove Mr Dumpty guilty. Due to space restriction the whole trial cannot be published, it would also be pretty boring if every question asked by the Prosecution/Defence was published. To follow the trial it is suggested that the pages are viewed in the following order Background Information, Newspaper Article, Whose Who, The Trial Begins, The Prosecutions Case, The Defence's Case and The Verdict If you do have any questions please e-mail the Unit at ventures@1stdouglas.org.im |
